Regional administrators of OSHA are discussing ways to implement drones to fly above projects and verify scaffold assemblies are erected properly and contractors are using compliant equipment. One day, they could be inspecting from afar to see that your using OSHA recognized scaffold boards, that railings and toe boards are installed according to standards, and your workers using safe practices.
Of course, there are a few issues to work out with the FAA regulations, but given the shortage of safety inspectors in relation to the number of construction projects, the concept is not far fetched.
